Rob cares deeply about people being clear on what, and who is important to them and helping them be mindful of their choices, authentic in their being, and connected in their lives and with those around them. He is an excellent communicator and is known for his ability to connect with a diverse range of individuals, to quickly establish a trusting and safe space, and to calmly yet boldly step into challenging situations.
Rob is a Certified Professional Co-Active coach. He received his coaching training through The Coaches Training Institute , a global coach training organization. Rob has completed additional training in Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching.
In July 2009 Rob would visit his dad in Kelowna. Rob would often talk about how things were going at work, or should I say how things were not going. One day after venting to his dad about work issues his dad turned to him from his hospital bed and said “Rob, don’t wish your life away”. Well that stopped Rob in his tracks and he found himself speechless. He had let work become more important than really being present for his dad in those last weeks before he passed from cancer.
Rob has 30 years corporate experience with BC Hydro and Accenture, a global consulting firm. He left Accenture 6 months after his dad passed away and began to look for ways to help others in a more meaningful way. Fast forward to present day where Rob now provides coaching for those looking at what's next in their life and career and he leads a team that supports victims of crime and trauma. His corporate experience gives him insight into some of the issues that managers and leaders face. His 6 years working with victims of trauma and criminal justice personnel have provided him with opportunities to see how marvelously resilient people can be and how important support and information are to assisting individuals in their journey.
Rob has always been involved in giving back to community in some way. He has volunteered at Camp Goodtimes, a children’s oncology camp, for over a decade and has facilitated leadership training at the Canadian Cancer Society for the past 6 years. Rob has witnessed and been inspired by the courage and tenacity of people in their struggle to overcome huge obstacles and severe circumstances that have been thrown at them.
Rob has been married for 30 years and lives in Metro Vancouver. While he has learned a lot through his life, it’s his family that has always kept him grounded and where he has learned some of his most memorable lessons. He enjoys time with his wife, his three adult children and he often spends time at his off the grid wilderness cabin.
